Hi friends, we’re doing music a bit differently these days so ✨ TA-DAH ✨, today we’re soft-launching our new single Stand Back.
Basically, we’d love to hear your thoughts/feelings/feedback/any technical or lyrical observations before we do a bit of a wider release. No need to be of a musical background or anything - we’re open to all different perspectives.
Some context: we wrote this song a few years back after some mental health knock-backs and it’s worked its way back into our lives after a bit of a strange and sad summer of ups and (quite a few) downs. Hoping that it can have some kind of small, positive impact on talking about mental health. Life is funny and unexpectedly hard at times but, as with the ebb and flow of things, we are firm believers that things can and will get better with time.
Much love to y’all.
Lyrics:
I don’t know the place where I come from
I don’t recognise where I belong
Imposter’s clothes, my voice exposed
Standing on the edge, man that train’s too closeStand back and talk to me, talk to me
In your eyes, I see myself
Comparing lives with everyone else’s
The earth vibrates, the anger grows
The lights feel brighter, the whistle blowsStand back and talk to me, talk to me
I could be your friend, I could be your shoulder to cry on,
I could be your voice of reason, a small hope to believe inStand back and talk to me, talk to me
